"When all is taken from one, the only hope that remains is what is given by another. Through this giving, both are redeemed."
Regeltavok Oorpah - Book 2, Entry 1,071, Item 54
Eder Kemo was written during the "Garden Binge" of the 8100's along with Eder Gira and numerous others.
Though the Age was given to the D'ni general population by the Lords of the time, it was later replaced with a different Age.

Appearance
Eder Kemo is a lush garden Age filled with a myriad of flora and fauna which sits in a valley of smooth grey rock. The Age is split into three areas that are connected via tunnels and rock corridors. Frequent storms pass through covering the valley in rain.
Visitors the Age arrive at the Link in point which is a small stone alcove with a bridge of rock that spans the pond below and leads to the fountain area of the Age. The pond below houses the Kemo fish from which the Age derives its name. Directly below the Link in point is a small cavity within the rock which houses a Linking Book to Eder Gira
The fountain area is a large area with a column of rock jutting out at the center. Surrounding the rock are large smooth boulders that sit in a bed of sand, it looks like there may have been a secondary pond there at some point in the Ages history. The fountain sits in the center of a seating area upon the rock walls a number of Bahroglyphs can be seen. On the far side of the fountain area (opposite from where the fountain is situated) is the Bahro Door or Journey Door as it is also known. To the left of this door is a short tunnel section that leads to the Troom and Puffer garden area.
Upon first emerging from the tunnel from the fountain area visitors are met with the sight of strange brain like trees called Trooms. A path past the Trooms splits off into two with one path descending down a flight of stairs to the Puffer garden and another path curving around past the Hanging Ivy to a floating statue. Eder Kemo is one of two Ages that contain these floating stone figures with a similar statue being found in Eder Delin. The statue is a representation of a D'ni person. Whilst the stone figure shares traits found in other D'ni artworks (an emphasis on the shoulders to down play the elongated heads of the D'ni) the art work actually originates from the Age of Rebek.
Down the steps past the Troom garden is the second of two seating gazebos (the first being in the fountain area) and just past this seating area is the Puffers. On the other side of the Puffer garden is a long tunnel which brings visitors out to the Kemo pond (beneath the Link in point bridge) and the Eder Gira Linking Book.
Bahro
Eder Kemo is littered with Bahroglyphs that form a narrative that references multiple Ages, Ahnonay, Rebek, and Gahreesen just to name a few. These were the first examples of Bahroglyphs discovered by the explorer community.
Also of note is the Bahro Door or Journey Door as it is also known. Emblazoned with the Journey Hand symbol it is one of four doors in this style that exist with the other doors being located on Gahreesen, Kadish Tolesa, and Teledahn. It should be noted that Eder Gira does not have a door as it "shares" the one situated on Eder Kemo.
Access to the door is simple enough, unlocking it however requires activation of the seven Journey Cloths scattered between Eder Kemo and Eder Gira. Once pas the Journey Door there is a long dark tunnel filled with Bahro who then facilitate transportation to the Bahro Cave.
Phil Henderson
On the 9th of September 2002 the DRC site reported that Phil Henderson had not checked in since the 6th of September and that he was last seen in Eder Kemo. Phil had been a member of the team lead by Dr. Marie Sutherland that was overseeing Eder Kemo.
9.9.02: Restoration Engineer Phil Henderson has not reported in since Friday. Phil was last seen heading to the Garden Age. He was wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans. Attempts to contact him via the KI have failed. If anyone knows Phil's whereabouts, please contact Dr. Sutherland.
9.24.02: Recap of the search for Phil Henderson:
9.6.02 - Phil Henderson was last seen heading to Eder Kemo (the Bevin Garden Age) for a routine assignment. When he wasn't seen again that evening, it was assumed that he left early for the weekend.
9.9.02 - Phil did not show up for work. Dr. Sutherland asked if Phil had been seen.
9.9.02 - 9.20.02 - For nearly two weeks, teams of volunteers searched all the areas that Phil Henderson had access to. No trace of him was found.
9.20.02 - Just as the 24/7 searches for Phil were about to be called off, Victor Laxman noticed a locator signal from Phil's KI coming from Eder Kemo. Dr. Watson went to the Age to try to locate him, but he was no where to be found. The signal stopped.
9.21.02 - 9.22.02 - Over the weekend, search teams again concentrated their efforts on Eder Kemo. There was no signal from Phil's KI, and no sign of him was found.
9.23.02 - The search teams went back to work. The signal appeared briefly and disappeared. No one was in Eder Kemo to look for Phil while the signal was there. The signal reappeared a few hours later, but disappeared about 30 minutes later. It seemed that no one made it once again.
Fortunately, one of the authorized explorers had made it there in time, and had a brief conversation with Phil via the KI. Phil said that he was OK, but that he wasn't coming back.
We are very happy to learn that Phil is alive and well, even if we have more questions than answers about how, where and why he went. We are confident that in time we will have these answers.
During this time the DRC were also discussing his disappearence on the DRC forums.
On the 23rd of September an explorer by the name of "Zardoz" managed to find Phil and speak to him about where he had been. As it turned out Phil had managed to access the Journey Door within Eder Kemo.
Dr. Watson posted the following on the DRC forums the next day after he had been debriefed by Zardoz.
It's not quite what you're thinking, Vic.
Phil contacted one of the authorized explorers who went looking for him in the Eder Kemo during the last signal.
I spoke to the explorer at length last night on Ae'gura to find out the details.
It was a very brief conversation via the KI. Phil told the explorer that he was OK, but that he wasn't coming back. The explorer tried to ask several questions, but Phil did not provide many answers. He just seemed very excited that he had "found a way".
The explorer asked Phil to send him a KI photo of his current location, but Phil refused.
Basically, all we know is that Phil somehow managed to get through that door we've never been able to open, and he implied that we would find out how, too, one day.
Phil also mentioned that this would be the last signal we got from him.
To me, that can only mean that he's intentionally disabling his KI. He doesn't want to be found for some reason.
What do you think, Vic?

Notable Wildlife
Blue Lichen grows around the top of the cliffs in Eder Kemo and serves as the food source for the Keanu Lints.
It's curious to note that whilst other forms of lichen grows on the ground and rocks of the Age, the Blue Lichen does not it is unique to the cliffs.
Chirteetahm or "Fire Organisms" are the name given to the fireflies that are native to the Age of Eder Kemo. The Chirteetahm Kemo reside amongst the Trooms but will be attracted to visitors to the Age swarming around them and following them around the Age.
Chirteetahm Kemo do not like water and will flee when it rains or if they are swarming around a visitor and they step in water. Nor do they like quick movements, if they are swarming around someone they will scatter if that person runs. Due to the "one step" rule for Linking it is possible that the Chirteetahm Kemo will Link with a person if they are swarming around that person as they Link. Due to such action it is possible to carry them to Eder Gira and to Relto.
Ghost Bamboo can be found in the fountain area and near the statue in Eder Kemo. Reaching heights upto approximately 15 feet they have long thin pale stalks which banch out into leafy green clumps.
Despite their thin stalks they are pretty hardy surving the winds and frequent storms that pass through the valley.
Hahzah Lilium are a star shaped specie of lily that are located within the pond of Eder Kemo. Not all the lily pads within the pond have a bloom on top of them.
It's interesting to note that the top white bloom has 5 petals and the lower bloom which is more pink in colour also has 5 petals.
Keanulints are strange bug like creatures with a soft almost squishy body. They hang on the rock from their tails and feed upon the layer of blue algae that collects there.
Whilst the D'ni name for these creatures has not yet been discovered they were named Keanulints by human explorer Alahmnat due to their resemblance to the metal creature planted in the stomach of Keanu Reeves' character in the Matrix film.
Kemo are from where the name of the Age is derived, they are a rainbow coloured fish of a moderate size that can be found in the pond below the Link in point.
Thus far no discernible difference has been observed between male species and female species.
