Project Audit Findings

After performing an audit of open restoration projects, and after some discussions with Ami, we've identified a handful of projects for which we've either run into recent issues, have lost contact with key personnel, or simply don't have the manpower needed to continue at this time. In order to manage expectations and to better optimize allocation of team resources, we therefore propose that the following projects should be considered "Suspended" - at least for the time being:
  • Chiso Preniv II*
  • D'ni Residence
  • Dovah Na'grenis
  • Kotsahvosahn
  • Neighbourhood – Diren
  • Sakura Vale**
  • Stan's Oasis
  • Teltokhuru
  • Teshafee
  • Toteltee
  • Undisclosed Location
* This concerns the planned restoration of the tunnels leading to the outside area, not the ongoing renovations to the library itself. Per Ami's latest report: connecting tunnels do not appear to be as stable as initially thought. Given the importance of the library, investigating further seems inadvisable at this time; recommend suspension.
** As previously noted by Calum in the April Town Hall: Nobody knows where the book is at present; project currently nonviable unless there's a miracle.

Do we have a second to this proposal? Calum, Kelsei, please let me know if you have any additional thoughts here.

This all meets my approval, Maurus. Thank you for working with Ami and her crew on this, in light of the Descent shakeup.

You know my feelings on this by now, how unfortunate it is to have a wave of suspensions like this. But, alas, even the DRC had their resource issues and limited manpower. Seems like we Called always bite off more than we can chew when it comes to workload, eh?

You called? Um. I'm rather out of the loop on things. I don't think I can give a solid answer on what's going on here. Project suspensions? Um. Okay? I don't see a problem if we don't have the resources or manpower to devote to the areas.

A shame there's so many Cavern areas amongst it, if I'm reading the list right.

Indeed, I know some folks were looking forwards to quite a few of these areas. But we have to put our resources where we have the most need.

Makes me appreciate the DRC more and more, these days. What they managed to do on their later-on budgets astounds me, even with Cate's backing.

For the most part, I do figure this is effectively mostly just a formality at this point - but I do still think there's value in making it "official" since, as I said, it should help the teams allocate resources more effectively, while also helping to manage explorer expectations.

Regardless of the outcome here, appreciate getting the opportunity to consult on this. Let me know if there's anything we should follow up on.

Still, thanks again for getting the legwork on this done, Maurus. I'll make sure to treat you and Ami both to a drink the next time we're all at the Pub.

I may need some assistance shoring up some supplies for Pod 12, but I think that's outside the scope of the Project Audit. Still, if anything comes up, you'll be one of the first to know.
