I recently ran into an explorer that seems to have arrived in the cleft before finding his way into the cavern.
He says he found his Relto book in the Bahro caves under the old tree. It was a surprise to say the least to me.
I had though everyone came into the cavern using Relto books given to them by other explorers.
Seems like the call is still happening, hopefully they wont disturb Zandi took much.
Let him get that steak cooked
I'm not surprised in the least, honestly. Given our growing population numbers as of late, a lot of folks either had to have had Relto Books from years back, or picked them up very recently.

I did wonder where these new arrivals were coming from! Good to know that the original route that bought us down here all those years ago remains open.
This has got the Historian in me thinking about the possibilities of a new route to the Cavern opening up for visitors, one that wasn't solely dependent on those who were Called taking Yeesha's journey. A potential future use for the Great Shaft, perhaps.

I did receive my Relto book from Yeesha, but it was years ago; I did the Journey back then, but never got involved in the Cavern or exploring. I thought my Relto book was lost (I've moved a lot, and once I had a big flooding that destroyed a lot of my books), but I recently found it buried under some copies of my husband's PhD thesis
I'm still not sure how I feel about Yeesha's journey; she reminds me too much of the more abusive religious groups I visited as a student, and though I do not believe she is evil, I cannot bring myself to trust her. It's wonderful to have Relto back, though; it's a great place to meditate and journal. And wandering the streets of D'ni after hearing about it so often is amazing. The City is a deeply tragic place, but beautiful.

Descent would be nice as a first trip, though, it'd be in dire need of some safety barriers if people were traversing it without a Relto.
I think Yeesha is someone who definitely got in over her head back in the day. I can only hope that, if she's really still out there somewhere, that she's keeping herself out of trouble.

Agreed on the safety point. Taking the path down the Great Shaft by foot would definitely be out of the question, for starters. But a well-maintained and safely planned out route, put in some information stations along the way with a history of D'ni and the Fall... we could be looking at the makings of an incredible Living Museum experience.

Yeah, I'm not supporting any endeavors for someone to go down Descent without a Relto Book or a Maintainer Suit, for the record. To proceed that way is just begging for trouble, if you ask me.
Shorah all, I wanted to weigh in here as a returning researcher. I've been away from the cavern for a while but I've finally been able to return and settle back in.
Not sure where the other Relto books are coming from, I've had mine from way back, but I've been here off and on for most of the duration of the project.
At the moment, I'm doing some work on the Great Zero (as evidenced by my journal) and looking into the history of this place as well as some of its secrets.
I've already come across some interesting material but haven't been able to translate all of it yet.
