Located one one of the many islands that make up the entire Age of Fahets, Fehrehmto is a desert environment located in a sizable erosion in the desert rock. It now houses Keith's studies on the Bahro and their involvement with the D'ni and humans.
Description
South west from the initial area of Fahets (also known as Fahets Prime) Fehrehmto is located on the western half of an island approximately 50 miles in length. The small "basin" in which Fehrehmto is situated was once an oasis serving as a watering hole for local wildlife. During the destabilization of Fahets the water levels decreased greatly resulting in the area drying up and the death of a lot of the wildlife that would come there to drink. The area is littered with huge boulders and the bones of aforementioned animals. At the center of the basin area is a sink hole in which the waters retreated forming a sort of cave. Accessible via tunnels the subterranean area is significantly cooler than the surface. Protected from the sun and harsh winds, and fed by the shallow waters of the remaining pool the area within the cave supports the wildlife that is growing there.
After the first explorations of the area it was decided to serve as a house for Keith's research on the Bahro, Seers and other related items. Inspired by the Bahro architecture the area was developed to mimic the Bahro style. As development continued the area became a bit of a homage to the Bahro with four large statues carved from the rock boulders upon the surface that watch over the area.
Notable Wildlife
Yara - So far only one live specimen has been sighted, but there are a number of bones belonging to the creatures scattered around the area of various sizes. The Yara are large animals with a short fur coat and wide feet that expand upon stepping to ensure they do not sink into the sands.They have a shovel shaped head and four long tusks protruding from their heads that they used to dig through the sands looking for grubs and smaller animals. Upon their backs they seem to have a hump very similar to that of camels on earth, it is speculated that they store water for long migration circuits.
