Description

Fehrehmto is a vast desert plain that stretches out for untold miles. The initial section of the Age sits within a shallow basin which was once an oasis, serving as a watering hole for the local wildlife. At the center of the basin where the water pool once resided is a Fissure leading to the Starry Expanse. It is unknown whether the pool dried up naturally or if the existence of the Fissure hastened the decline of the area.

The Fissure area is home to a crane system to lower a bathysphere into the Starry Expanse to allow for long term studies of the anomaly.

Around the edges of the basin a series of tents have been erected to serve as workshops whilst a more permanent structure can be built.

Outside of the basin the desert is littered with sand dunes and boulders from which large fungi grow.

Upon the horizon the plant which Fehrehmto orbits can be seen.

Notable Wildlife

Yara - So far only one live specimen has been sighted, but there are a number of bones belonging to the creatures scattered around the area of various sizes. The Yara are large animals with a short fur coat and wide feet that expand upon stepping to ensure they do not sink into the sands. They have a shovel shaped head and four long tusks protruding from their heads that they used to dig through the sands looking for grubs and smaller animals. Upon their backs they seem to have a hump very similar to that of camels on earth, it is speculated that they store water for long migration circuits.

Shrooms - filter nutrients out of the air from the wind that blows from the west.
