The Tehren Neighborhood was built by Tehren for his family centuries before The Fall. Tehren and his family had grown up in a poor district of D'ni with his extended family living under one roof in a small building. When Tehren was adopted by a family living on Ae'gura his life and financial status changed. Many years later he built the Tehren Neighborhood and returned to his birth family and offered them a new place to live.
In November 2003 after centuries of being empty the Tehren Neighbourhood was rediscovered by members of The Third Path. The group already had a public neighbourhood they operated out of called Sijehn but with the discovered of the Tehren Neighbourhood the group saw a location to use as a secondary, private, neighbourhood which they could work out of.
When the DRC disbanded at the start of 2004 members of the Third Path, like others, returned to D'ni to continue their work. The Tehren Neighbourhood became their primary base of operations up until the point the group disbanded.
